How Peach handles the information a school, its staff, its students and their guardians put into the system.

Last updated 10 September 2026

Who we are

Peach is the service described on this site. The legal entity and address that provide the service to a school are identified in that school's signed order or agreement. Where this policy says the school, it means the institution that holds the account and enters its records.

For questions about this policy, write to kanishk@peach.study.

The school is the controller

For records about students, staff and guardians, the school decides what is collected and why. Peach acts on the school's instruction as a processor. We do not decide independently to use a student's work for a new purpose.

This matters in practice. If a guardian asks us for a record, we route the request to the school rather than answering it ourselves. The school is the one entitled to decide what is released.

What we collect

  • Account and role information for staff, students and guardians: name, role, class and section, and the contact details the school supplies.
  • Academic records the school creates: unit plans, assignments, submissions, marks, rubric judgements, outcomes, evidence and reports.
  • Attendance records, including the register a teacher confirms.
  • Messages sent through Peach, including class channels, broadcasts and their translated delivery.
  • Technical records needed to run and secure the service: sign in events, device and browser information, and error logs.
  • The audit log of actions taken in the account, including which staff member approved a proposal from Peach.

Why we hold it

To run the system the school asked for: planning, assessment, attendance, reporting, messaging, the staff assistant and the student tutor. To keep the account secure and to investigate misuse. To meet the school's own record keeping obligations. To support the school when it asks us for help.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use student work, marks or messages to advertise to a student or a guardian.

How AI features process information

Peach uses the class's own context to prepare work. That means the school's unit template, the rubric the school wrote, the submissions in that class and the outcomes attached to them. Peach records when a model prepares a proposal and what source material was used.

The school's AI grading policy determines whether an AI grading proposal requires teacher review before release. Guardian reports and messages require a person at the school to release or send them. Attendance is confirmed before it is recorded. Peach keeps the relevant approval, release and correction history.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host and secure the system, bound by contract to process only on our instruction.
  • Model providers used to generate drafts, under terms that prohibit training on the school's content.
  • Anyone the school directs us to share with, including staff, guardians and students inside its own account.
  • A public authority, where the law requires it and after we have told the school unless we are prohibited from doing so.

We do not share records with advertisers or data brokers.

Keeping it

We hold records for as long as the school's account is active, and for the period the school specifies afterwards. When an account closes, the school can export its records. We then delete or irreversibly anonymise them within the period set by the school's written instructions or agreement, apart from anything we must keep by law.

Audit logs are kept for the period the school sets, because their value is that they can be checked later.

Security

Access is scoped by role, so a teacher sees the classes they teach and a guardian sees their own child. Records are encrypted in transit and at rest. Administrative access by our team is limited, logged, and used only to operate or support the service.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have rights over your information. You can ask for a copy, ask for corrections, ask for deletion, and object to certain processing.

If the record belongs to a school account, ask the school first, because the school decides what is released. If you are unsure who to ask, write to kanishk@peach.study and we will point you to the right place.

Children

Peach is used by schools with students under eighteen. Student accounts are created by the school, under the school's authority and the consent it holds from guardians. We do not knowingly create a student account outside a school account.

A student's work is visible to the staff who teach them and to guardians as the school configures it. It is not made public by Peach.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects how a school's records are handled, we will tell the school first. The change does not take effect before that. We also update the date at the top of this page.
